Realty Times Editor Featured on CNN

Blanche Evans, publisher of Agent News and editor of Realty Times was featured on CNN"s new program about online commerce, CNNdotCom. The segment about home buying on the Internet ran Saturday, July 29th at 12:30 Eastern time, and Sunday, July 30th at 11:30 Eastern time. Correspondent Mary Kathleen Flynn and Evans shopped for homes online using Realtor.com and loans using Homeadvisor.com. Evans advised viewers to check their credit and work with a lender to get approved for a loan before shopping for homes. She also warned viewers against applying for a loan at multiple sites which can inadvertantly raise credit scores, but to use the Internet to shop for and to compare rates before choosing a lender. An advocate for Internet consumers and real estate professionals, Evans is the author of the first book about home buying and selling using the Internet, Homesurfing.net: The Insider"s Guide to Buying and Selling Your Home Using the Internet, Dearborn. She has just completed a second book for real estate agents, The Hottest e-Careers in Real Estate, Dearborn, to be published in October 2000, and is co-authoring a third book with Michael Russer, a.k.a.
