Map Your Way to a Better Web Site

People don"t just buy houses. They buy the neighborhood, the community, and the city. The houses you have listed on your Web site will mean a lot more to your buyers if they can visualize the home of their dreams in relationship to other places of interest. Do they want to be near an employer, a school of choice, a relative"s home, or some other landmark? You can show them exactly where their new home will be located by adding a mapping feature to your Web site. When home buyers view homes on the large search sites such as Realtor.com and CyberHomes®, they can click on a mapping feature that allows them to picture the home of their choice in perspective to a neighborhood or the landmark of interest. Why not bring the same benefit to the buyers that visit your Web page? You can take the same information and include it in your e-mail mailouts to your farming area as well. SMART Marketing Technologies (SMT) is introducing a new service for Realtors at www.mapsmart.com. This service can generate high quality maps in JPEG format and demographic reports in HTML format for embedding into their web pages. Realtors with large volumes who want dynamic databases that are updated daily can contract with SMART Marketing Technologies for custom server applications. Jim Uno, President of SMT explains, "As more and more properties are marketed on-line, prospective buyers want immediate access to detailed information. Companies that can"t provide this information will be at a competitive disadvantage. We want to enable Realtors to spend more time making deals than generating maps and reports. " Uno says that his company offers some unique advantages to Realtors. "Most demographic services are more expensive if you aren"t on-line. We have plenty of competitors who can deliver maps to Realtors, but we can also provide everything from 36" by 48" wall maps to electronic images. The electronic maps are low cost - about $1 per map." "From the Web site, Realtors are able to get demograpic reports, especially in the commerical market, they can pull the demographic data or subscribe and get unlimited reports for an annual fee. If they want to put maps on their site, we can supply them with images. They can run a demo report with a credit card and get the maps and demogrphics for a fee. If they want the maps onl;y, they can call us and we can batch process a large number of properties cost-effecticvely and deliver the images to them, and their Webmaster can put it into their web site. Or they can link to images in our site." If you market your Web site actively, you want to provide the best features that you can for the enjoyment of your contacts as they flip through the listings and other information that you have on your site.
