The holiday season is ending, but housing sales are still going strong in Fort Lauderdale which is defying any notions of a housing slowdown.
"The Real Estate market in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding area has been red hot for the past six months," declare Realtors Marilyn Wechsler and Allen Rosenthal. "The result is a decrease in available inventory. It"s anybody"s guess how long the cost of borrowing will remain affordable or low."

The very low interest rates have a lot to do with this. Soon the influx of seasonal vacationers from colder climates will be here, many of which will consider purchasing a second home in the hot market that is Fort Lauderdale. A few new upscale condo buildings are in the process of being built -- all are selling at a quick pace. As vacant land is becoming more scarce every year, property values in general are increasing throughout the Greater Fort Lauderdale area.
