Fort Lauderdale Housing Sales Remain Sunny

The holiday season is ending, but housing sales are still going strong in Fort Lauderdale which is defying any notions of a housing slowdown. "The Real Estate market in Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding area has been red hot for the past six months," declare Realtors Marilyn Wechsler and Allen Rosenthal. "The result is a decrease in available inventory. It"s anybody"s guess how long the cost of borrowing will remain affordable or low." Says Realtor Leanne Valdes, "The heart of southeast Florida, also known as the Gold Coast, Fort Lauderdale is the largest city in Broward County. Often referred to as "The Venice of America," it offers much to visitors and residents alike. The downtown area is bustling by day with thousands of people working in the many buildings and alive by night with people enjoying all that Las Olas Boulevard, Riverfront and Riverwalk have to offer. If you"re in the mood to shop, the Galleria mall also offers many shops to browse through. Or enjoy a cup of coffee or a cappuccino while sitting on the outdoor patio at Borders Bookstore on the Intracoastal Waterway. Of course, there are always the fine beaches to relax and take in some sun!" She says, "The end-of-year holidays are here and the real estate market in Fort Lauderdale continues to be strong as evidenced by the number of buyers still seeking a new home. The very low interest rates have a lot to do with this. Soon the influx of seasonal vacationers from colder climates will be here, many of which will consider purchasing a second home in the hot market that is Fort Lauderdale. A few new upscale condo buildings are in the process of being built -- all are selling at a quick pace. If you"re searching for a home and find one that fits your wants and needs but perhaps just needs a little work, don"t hesitate for too long before placing an offer or someone else may beat you to it. As vacant land is becoming more scarce every year, property values in general are increasing throughout the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. "Welcome to our sunny paradise!" exclaim Realtors Chuck Dinsmore and Chris Toomey, "Enjoy tropical days on our breezy beaches, then retire to quiet waterfront dining or happening nightlife. Ft. Lauderdale is quickly becoming a premiere five-star resort destination, and, along with this , we are seeing phenomenal growth in both business and population." As one that surfs the Internet looking at agents sites, and searching for listings on a regular basis the one item that disturbs me most is agent or broker self promotion.

What"s a New Real Estate Agent To Do?
I write plenty of articles and books instructing real estate agents in the fine art of taking their business to the next level. I am a big proponent of agent teams, hiring assistants (both visual and virtual assistants), keeping in touch with past clients, establishing an Internet presence via websites and blogs, and working hard to build a brand presence.
